COVID-19 Web App Launch

First iteration of my web app COVID-19 dashboard. This dashboard provides information about the status of COVID-19 within Rhode Island. All of the data comes from the google sheet provided & updated by the Rhode Island Department of Health. The goal of this dashboard is to provide a fast loading, mobile friendly option to people wanting a daily digest of COVID-19 information.

General Election Tables

Following my "interesting primary tables" post, this will take a look at many the same stats. The 2020 general election was quite an interesting night, As oppose to the primary which saw only 1 election turned by mail-in this election saw a drastic impact. Also the Rhode Island Board of Elections added a new stat "Blank Ballots" which is a tad odd... and stands out in a few communities.

Election Webapp Changelog

Updates to my web app to show live election results for Rhode Island with data provided by RI Board of Elections. After feedback from the 2020 Primary, for the general I've added some improvements too the custom page allowing for a better user experience allowing preview of candidates and saving checked values.

Interesting Primary Election Tables

Previously, my use of election data was limited to viewing turnout and showing votes for each candidate showing which recieved more votes. This year I used Python & Pandas to find some interesting facts hidden within the primary election data. Things like, which endorsed candidate lost their election, or if mail-in votes effect the outcome from the ballot box on election day.

RI Primary 2020

Last year I attempted to make a live election graph in Tableau. However, Tableau Public only allows data to automatically update once every 24 hours. Clearly... that didn't work out well, so this year I decided to try again and create my first Python web app using Flask, Bootstrap and AWS.
